As you may remember some weeks ago we gave you some suggestions of how to get drunk without your girlfriend getting mad. One of the suggested activities was a tour through a brewery or alcohol museum. Usually both are combined in the larger beer breweries. It’s an absolute treat for the real beer lover. Not only the modern process, but also the history that you will find contains many funny facts. And than there is usually the free tasting to finish it off. Micky Bumbar visited the factory of the Polish brands Tyskie and Lech in Tychy. Here’s a photo report.

Let’s start the tour. I’ll be your tour guide for today; Micky. Welcome to the brewery of the two most famous Polish beers Tyskie and Lech.

The first part of the tour goes through the old part of the brewery, where in the old days the ingredients were mixed in copper tanks. All manually of course.

With the whole process being done manually it was important to taste a lot in order to get the right flavor. The ultimate job for the Lords of the Drinks. Oh damn you modern times!

And this is the house where the beer taster used to live. He actually had a full time job doing this and usually arrived home pretty wasted. For this reason the house had no doorstep or stairs. Safety first of course.

And than it’s part for the new part of the factory. All of these giant cans are full of beer. Just look at your tour guide to get a clue of how big they really are. Should be sufficient to get us through the weekend I’d say. Too bad this is all we can show you from the new part since it’s prohibited to take pictures inside.
