Even flies turn to drinking after sexual rejection.

Of course we all know the reaction of getting shitfaced after being rejected by your loved one. And every weekend guys who don’t get lucky with girls switch to massive drinking. Nothing new. But as it turns out this is more than human behavior, it’s a natural reaction. In an experiment by the University of San Francisco that is as interesting as it is hilarious we see that even fruit flies turn to alcohol after they got denied to have sex.

For a detailed report on this experiment we advice you to read this article. But here’s a simplified version plus the video. In this experiment fruit flies were put together. The male flies tried to make sweet loving to the female flies, but not all of them succeeded. After that the flies could drink from two taps. A non-alcoholic one and one that contained alcohol. It turned out that al the rejected flies consumed large amounts of alcohol, where their sexually satisfied friends stayed more or less off the booze.
So next time you get the hand palm in a club or a glass of water in a restaurant, don’t fight that voice inside you that suggests to get drunk beyond imagination. This is just the law of nature, so go along with it.
