Beer stealing pig gets cut off at own bar after head-butting customers

It seems pretty clear that pigs don’t handle their alcohol too well. After an intoxicated wild hog in Australia attacked a cow, we now found an example from England. In a pub in South London a micro-pig was given a lifelong alcohol ban after it started head-butting customers in an attempt to get their drinks. Just before that Frances Bacon, as the Vietnamese pot-bellied pig is called, had already ‘mine swept’ the bar, as it downed all abandoned glasses.

Frances Bacon has been the pet of the Conquering Hero pub for sometime already and is usually very well loved by the customers. So well loved that many of them  gladly shared a few sips of beer or cider with the micro-pig. However, this weekend things got a little out of hand. After the first sips, Frances Bacon wanted to drink more and started minesweeping. After taking care of all the leftovers, the pig was thirstier than ever.

“She’s lovely – definitely our favourite regular”, said Ian Taylor, owner of both bar and pig. “We’ve had to bar her from any beer though. She managed to nick a pint or two and then started butting into people. But we’re keeping a closer eye on her now and  that won’t happen again.”

    • Absolutely… I would be happy to share my booze with him. A mate of ours had a husky who kinda did the same. Once he knocked over my whisky and started licking it. Some animals are quite clever when it comes to alcohol. 🙂

    • Oh he’s probably still alive and kicking. This post was from March, so not that long ago. Hopefully he found himself a new favorite pub.
      Cheers,
      Micky
