People have a weird habbit to buy stuff they don’t really need when they are drunk. The intoxicated man is one of the main reasons why online shopping is booming business. Usually it’s just a huge waste of money but not always. Former English rugby star Mike Tindall will never regret his drunken purchase at a charity auction. After a boozy dinner he spent 12.000 pounds (close to 16.600 euros) on a race horse. Reason enough for his royal wife Zara Phillips to call him an idiot. But this idiot gained himself 105.00 pounds (over 145.000 euros) as Monbeg Dude came in third at the Grand National.

Horse racing is a big thing in the United Kingdom and the Grand National is the highlight of the year. Millions of people went nuts today as they were watching 39 horses jumping over 30 fences. But few went as crazy as Tindall. The former rugby star must have kissed his dear money goodbye already, but it turned out to be an amazing investment. His horse Monbeg Dude was rated at 40/1 and an absolute outsider for the top positions. But the drunken purchase surprised everyone, including his owner. The tweet that Tindall sent into this world (see picture) basically said it all. So do you have the same habbit of buying stuff that seems useless when you’re smashed? Maybe there’s still hope for you after all. Cheers Mike!

  1. I try not to go on ebay, gaming sites or in fact any site where I can buy stuff if I have had a few. I’ve ended up over the years with stuff that seemed a good idea at the time yet when they arrive, I often wonder what I was thinking.
