Today we celebrate the first birthday of our weblog. With booze of course and a lot of liquored up party snacks. But when there’s a birthday, there must also be cake. And we wouldn’t be the Lords of the Drinks if this wasn’t a cake prepared with some kind of booze. So we’d like to present you a recipe for Amaretto Cake; a nice bundt with the sweet taste of almond liquor.
Ingredients:
250 gram cake mix
150 gram instant vanilla pudding mix
200 gram almond paste
4 eggs
250 gram butter
125 ml water
125 ml amaretto
Ingredients glaze:
125 gram butter
125 gram sugar
75 gram amaretto
50 gram water
Optional:
Almond slices
Preparation:
Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Blend the cake mix, pudding mix and almond paste. Then put it in a bowl and add the eggs, butter, water and amaretto. Beat it until it’s smooth and pour the whole thing in a greased bundt pan. Put the cake in the oven and let it bake for 45 to 60 minutes.
Once your cake is done, you put all the ingredients for the glaze in a small pan. Bring it to a boil while stirring and let it boil for 1 minute. Pour the glaze over the cake and if you want to pimp your cake you can sprinkle some almond slices on top. Now let the whole thing cool down and you’re ready to serve your amaretto cake.
